Haizhen Wang
Haizhen Wang is a contemporary womenswear label based in London, launching in January 2010. Originality and craftsmanship inspired the first collection for SS11 whilst the overall ethos behind the brand is sophisticated and modern. The designs are wearable, mixing tailoring, luxurious fabrics and signature prints to create elegant daytime and evening pieces. Before launching the brand Haizhen Wang, Haizhen previously worked for Handwritten, adopted his love for tailoring at All Saints, designed and pattern cut at Boudicca, all after working in Italy as a designer at Max Mara. Haizhen Wang gained an MA(Hons) in Womenswear Fashion at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. Following this long training experience it seemed only natural for Haizhen to launch his own brand.

Laura Theiss
With a background in business studies, Lithuanian-born knitwear designer Laura Theiss graduated in 2009 from Central St Martins and is now dividing herself between Germany and the UK.
Her graduation collection ‘the world, the flesh and the devil’ shows her signature style and structural and patterning potential: the designer creates new juxtapositions of shapes and fabrics by pleating, layering and twisting the knits of her dresses and opting for an unusual mix of colours, coming up with high contrasts, interesting volumes and sporty but sensual pieces.

Makin Jan Ma
Makin Jan Ma, originally from Hong Kong, moved to London at the age of 19 to complete his BA in Graphic Design from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. During that period he began to develop his visual language and unique perspective. Upon graduation, feeling the need for further personal development, Makin continued his education in the Royal College of Art in the field of Communication Art. Acknowledging his need to create using various mediums in order to express himself, and the ultimate desire to become a filmmaker, led Makin to produce a number of garments around his latest film idea for an exhibition. The creation of clothes allowed Makin to develop a sensual association with his characters, as well as explore the depth of each character. The unexpected interest in his garments had spontaneously led him to start his own label, guided by the same concept that has led him to that path…
