On|Off Presents SS12: Zeynep Tosun, Kerhao & Hasan Hejazi

On|Off Presents in Paris made a show stopping start for SS12 with three amazing designers showcasing their collections at the stunning Espace Commines.

Zeynep Tosun

First off was Turkish based Zeynep Tosun, who trained at Istituto di Marangoni and has already cut her fashion teeth at Alberta Ferretti in Rimini. Expert cutting and beautiful prints were at the forefront of this collection, inspired by original Turkish tile art indigenous to Kutahya.

Zeynep took the traditional and ornate symbol of the bird and expertly morphed it into a very modern collection, 90% of it made from luxurious silk. A bright, soft palette of peacock blue and icy peach was juxtaposed against harder edged bondage inspired detailing and chain collars. The collection was a mixture of tribal/romantic punk, with a modern twist.

Zeynep opens her first standalone store in Turkey in two weeks. For more details visit www.zeyneptosun.com

Kerhao

London based Kerhao was next up at the On|Off Presents catwalk show, delivering a sports inspired collection with a distressed but sophisticated edge. This ex St. Martins graduate is one of the youngest designers at On|Off but already has a keen sense of commerciality having refined his technique at Chloe and Vanessa Bruno.

Forming the base of his futuristic collection was technologically enhanced fabrics which were patched and woven with raw textures of mesh, quilting and aertex.  The overall look was very fresh, modern and unisex, which really resonated with an audience looking for something unique but wearable.

Hasan Hejazi

Hasan Hejazi finished the show with a foot tapping Madonna medley, expertly mixed by DJ Kris Deingles.  With his graduate collection stocked in Harrods and a celebrity fan base including Kylie Minogue, Fergie BEP and Jessie J, Hasan already has the kind of following many designer’s would die for.

His collection was a stunning mix of butter soft leather and delicate chiffon in a colour palette which gave a nod to the 80’s with tones of electric blue and hot pink, against monochrome black and white. Skater dressers were expertly cut with panels to fit the body perfectly, alongside dresses and all in one bodies which featured heavily. It was a fitting end to another fantastic season at On|Off Presents SS12.
