Fashion Bite for On|Off

Q&A with On|Off exhibitor Hasan Hejazi

What attracted you to show at On|Off?
I see On|Off as a great platform for young designers as a starting point, whether it is in the exhibition or on the catwalk it is an achievable way for new talents to showcase their work.

What appeals about On|Off as a venue?
The other venues of On|Off have been great but as this will be the first year at Mercer Studios, I am excited to find out.

What was the inspiration for your AW11 collection?
I dont really have inspirations or concepts behind my collections, it was more of a progression from s/s 2011. it more starts of with a certain dress or detail and then i develop my ideas in the end having 100's of designs and then compiling what works as a collection from there.

How has the collection evolved from your SS11 offer?
The collection would very much be the same sort of customer, it's still fun, sexy with a sports edge but maybe this time its slightly more simple and sophisticated.

Can you describe a few of the key pieces from the collection?
My favourite piece I think is the red gown, it has a full chiffon skirt but the top half is in leather so it has a good contrast in fabrics, then there is a shot of pink at the hem. I have vowed to always use pink somewhere in every collection.

Who would you love to see wearing your collection?
There are lots of celebrities and models that I love like Rosie Huntington Whitely, Megan Fox, Madonna, Marina and the diamonds, the sexy girls. I like the classy ladies too, Natalie Portman, Angelina Jolie, Anna Friel I would also love to get Kylie in another dress.
