Fashion Bite for On|Off

Q&A with On|Off exhibitor Angeline Lee

Angelina LeeWhat was the inspiration for your AW11 collection?
Autumn/winter draws inspiration from women I see as desirable and mysterious. Cleopatra and Daphne Guinness are the muses for this season's collection. I also looked to the theme of strong silence. Anish Kapoor's intense and powerful sculptures have been influencing my silhouettes, lines and colours.

How has the collection evolved from your SS11 offer?
The collection has really progressed from SS11- my debut collection. I worked hard on establishing beautiful shoe shapes that coupled with a contrast of colours and textures would be a staple in a women's wardrobe in seasons after. Finishing touches that can be seen and unseen from my personal bespoke signature zip tags to a secret sheepskin lining to ergonomically adjusted heels to maximise comfort in both the high heels and flats. My hands-on approach is paramount. I have a great team of shoe makers that share my dream. Be ready for more incredible shoes!

Can you describe a few of the key pieces from the collection?
There is an alter ego in all of us and that can be seen in my collection which is designed to take you through every highlight in your day. From the super elegant flat pumps that have my signature logo in various subtle combinations for tip toeing around town, to the simple and demure 'secretary' high pumps. For the boyish look there are the luxurious oxfords that are made in salmon pink, dove grey and vintage hand polished two toned black and burgundy.

Who would you love to see wearing your collection?
Daphne Guinness in a pair of my wedge booties.
