Up-and-coming singer/songwriter Viktoria Modesta talks about why On|Off is at the forefront of fashion and her plans for a capsule collection with Ada Zanditon. “Better than any other fashion event, London Fashion Week pioneers in putting new designers in the spotlight, as well as exhibiting established brands. On|Off is a perfect example of this. Every season it unveils new, up-and-coming designers like Ada Zanditon. I collaborate with Ada on my costume designs. We are currently in talks about launching a ‘Viktoria’ capsule collection.” Viktoria Modesta

At Ada Zanditon’s collection showcase, backstage was buzzing with talk of celebrity collaborations, soon-to-launch capsule collections and budding new stars. Designer Jeffery Michael, who has worked with Ada Zanditon on projects including costume design for Groove Armada’s Farewell Tour, said he could soon be working with pop superstar Rihanna. He hinted he is in talks with the star about his innovative “light instillation couture”. At today’s show Michael was sporting a pair of his own glowing glasses, which looked fabulous. Singer Rian Peters was also hanging out backstage. Peters, who’s songs have already aired on radio stations including BBC 1Xtra and Kiss FM, spoke about his recent collaboration with UK rapper Wiley and let slip that he is soon to release his first album. Q&A With On|Off designer Ada Zanditon
Ethical designer Ada Zanditon talks to On|Off about her AW11 collection and why On|Off is so important to London Fashion week...

What inspired your AW11 collection?
The Cryoflux: under the frozen surface of Jupiter's Moon Europa has evolved a new species. Descending to earth, she arrives in Antarctica in the barren darkness of winter to explore a frozen world in a strange state of flux.

Can you describe a few of the key pieces from the collection?
Key pieces are the burnt sienna melton pea coat with geometric sculptural sleeves, the frozen waterfall digital print corset dress with a dramatically asymetric plunging hem and the squarely shouldered leather and melton leather dress, where panels of veg tan leather have been segmented to resemble broken black frozen ice.
