Miscible Displacement. Reinventing the typical balkan folklore style by mixing it with sportswear. Low bottomed trousers, drapes wrapping the waist, white shirts with embroideries on the collar… – all these Folklore elements are present in the collection but twisted and mixed in order to obtain a modern feeling.
Sometimes completely different details will appear and remind on a indirect way, a Balkan Folklore vibe by their location, colour or shape. For example traditional red fabrics which wraps the waist are going to be replaced by big foam blocks referring to the safety swimming belts, but graphically will be inspired by traditional symbols. Traditional embroideries and decorations on the garments will be stylised, and interpreted into sporty graphics.
Balance between tradition and innovation.
Objects from daily life are influencing the designs by their function or visual perception.
Functionality becomes beauty only when it looses its purpose and put in a different context.
The experimental movie “The Fourth Dimension” 1988 by Rybczynski inspired me by its motion and time warp distortion which is translated in body deformation and exaggerated/stretched elements.
