The (non-) conformist took off when I returned to my village of my childhood. During the weekend I sat at a kitchen table having a conversation about multiculturalism with opposing relatives. This discussion pointed out that diversity in our society is paramount in order to create appreciation for dissidents and eventually reuniting a divided society. This collection shows that cohesion is only achieved when both diversity and unity are preserved. Making the unrecognizable recognizable again and vice versa. Cultural clichés and contradictory values create an uncommon balance between provocation and acceptance. This equilibrium allows multiculturalism to reveal itself in all its glory to its conformists

After graduating from the Amsterdam Fashion Institute (AMFI) and completing a successful internship at the atelier of VIKTOR&ROLF the collection “The (non-) conformist” won the LICHTING 2016 audiences favorite award during Mercedes-Benz Fashion week Amsterdam.
Before AMFI I obtained a degree in pattern & tailoring and worked as a designer and head of embellishments for iNDiViDUALS.

With my social motivations and outspoken use of colour, my work often gets compared with the big boys such as McQueen and Valentino. Due to the interesting use of rich but unusual materials, an overdose of romantic molded rushes, particular silhouettes and luxurious handcrafted details I can add celebrities such as Lady Gaga to my clientele.
