Jennifer Dols is an American fashion designer and artist from Brooklyn, NY. She received both her BA and MA degrees in fashion design from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. She grew up in North Carolina and attended the University of
North Carolina School of the Arts’ magnet high school scholarship program. In 2005 she moved to New York to study art and art history at New York University. She graduated from NYU in 2009 with her BFA in Studio Art. Dols worked at Marc by Marc Jacobs as a design assistant and then left in 2011 to further her academic studies in fashion design.
Dols’ graduating Master collection, La Belle et La Bête, was awarded the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Mode Award 2016. She is participating in a group fashion show in Prague Fashion Week SS17 with WE’RE NEXT, September 9-10th.
Jennifer blurs skills, processes, and theories from her art and fashion practices. Her recent collections focus on the emotions, dynamic personalities, and attitudes of women. Dols’ collections are emotionally complex and provoke new enigmatic attitudes. She makes clothes with attention to tradition and history seeking new and contemporary ideals to move forward. Her clothes question the status quo; they are for thinkers.
