GYUNEL
Gyunel Rustamova was born in Baku, Azerbaijan. After graduating from the capital’s State Economics University, she moved to London to take up fashion at the London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins.
Having already enjoyed a successful career as an artist, where she gaining critical acclaim, her talent and passion for painting feeds cleverly into her design work in the creation of beautiful, wearable pieces with an artistic edge.
Romantic, but with an ever-present darker twist, Gyunel’s ready-to-wear and couture designs are tinged with intrigue and seduction. They speak of other worlds, are inhabited by whimsical and enchanted creatures and stem from a love of gothic architecture.
For SS16, she’s turning her attention to evil eyes and the idea of protection circles.
