Starting 2018 with one to watch features in The Fader, Clash & Complex New Year lists, as well as Sian Anderson’s ‘Alternative List’ for 1Xtra, Yizzy is set to continue in his path to the top of the grime scene.
2017 saw Yizzy emerge as one of the most exciting up and coming grime artists of the year. With early support in NME’s 100 Essential Artists in January 2017 and receiving consistent support from industry tastemakers such as BBC Radio 1’s Phil Taggart, Mistajam, Target & Sian Anderson, Yizzy ‘s confidence and songwriting skills have grown from strength to strength. Yizzy’s debut EP ‘This is Life’ received wide critical acclaim from the likes of Mass Appeal, The Guardian, Dummy, Complex and many more. Yizzy went on to release several successful singles throughout the year with strong radio/press support and key Spotify playlist positions including Grime Shutdown & Fresh Finds.
Yizzy secured a slot at Glastonbury Festival via coming runner up in the Emerging Talent Competition in March. He also won the first ever BBC Introducing Future Fund Award in October which will see him working closely with BBC Introducing over 2018. After signing with Coda Agency in October, Yizzy has recently gone on to support Denzel Curry, Billie Eilish and Ski Mask The Slump God.
