Jack Irving is a fashionable costume designer and artist based in London. After graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2014 he opened up his own studio.
Jack successfully showcased his last collection at London Fashion Week with On|Off for the first time in February 2017. The show featured intergalactic showgirls and inflatable wearable art.
Jack’s work has been published in British Vogue, Wonderland, Notion, Elle, NY Times, Cosmopolitan, Daily Mail to name a few. His work has included, costume design for The X Factor, art installations with “Secret Cinema”, and video mapping installations for Gloria’s at XOYO nightclub London. He has also showcased collections/shows at Berlin Alternative Fashion Week in 2015 and 2016.
Mostly known for his work with Lady Gaga who has worn many of his pieces, the most famous of these is the Sea Urchin Showgirl inflatable dress that was worn on the final night of her artRAVE:The Artpop Ball World Tour in Paris. This dress generated a huge amount of press and memes of this dress have been shared online over 3 million times, the outfit was even made into a character on the popular computer game ‘The Sims’. Jack has also created an inflatable dress for Heineken for the EUFA Cup Final in Milan. His most recent projects include creating large scale installations for Houghton Music Festival, designing costumes for Cocoon Ibiza and working in collaboration with the acclaimed fashion photographer Ram Shergill.
Jack creates collections of wearable art, creating cosmic worlds for alien showgirls to parade through. Jack Irving’s mission is to engulf the world in a fantastical spectacle, incorporating all elements of theatricality with a love for colliding technology with live performance.
