Chris Daniels
Chris Daniels due to graduate shortly from the Royal Academy Schools describes his work as - involved with direct ideas of simplicity, using non-referential minimalist forms or constructs, which allow for an uninterrupted contemplation of colour, highlighting contrasts and pitch. The colour is taken from a personal, not scientific approach, and is often influenced by objects from the urban environment, filtered into the tight form of the stripe. The result is paintings that produce optical disappointments, and have an exterior to be broken down, to ward off the casual viewer. There is also an important underplaying element at work, the painting process is allowed to be evident, which stops the work from becoming mechanically produced, and soulless, yet still operating to a high level of sophistication.
Chris will be displaying some of his work in the press lounge during February’s event.

Le Tramac
Designers Anouchka and Cassandra Lefebvre De Lange spent an idyllic childhood growing up in Spain, which filled their young imaginations with hot Mediterranean colour and the shapes and textures of nature. Passionate about interior design from an early age, the highly creative pair furnished their girlhood bedrooms with geometrical furniture and painted the walls with jungle and garden scenes. The artistic streak in them never waned and they both came to London to study at Central Saint Martins - Anouchka specializing in Theatre and Costume Design and Cassandra in Interior Design and Architecture – before, in the summer of 2005, they combined talents and set up their own furniture studio, Le Tramac. From their workshop in Chiswick, the girls produce seven exciting collections including the popular Lollypop and Les Tropiques ranges - a world of fantasy, fun and mischieviousness.

Black Metal England are 12 paintings by Wilson commissioned for the On|Off
event.
A lifelong passion for extreme rock music has formed the basis for the
inspiration of this series of paintings, in development since 2004 and
still ongoing.
The focus of these paintings titled, Black Metal England, is the
connection and creative collaboration with extreme Heavy Metal bands.
These local, national and international bands are primarilly underground,
from sub-genres Black Metal, Death Metal, Thrash Metal and Doom Metal. The
project has most recently been punctuated by the the completion of the
final painting in a collection of 12.
The collection represents a selection of ideas, interpretations and visual
rantings from pages of sketchbooks scaled up and painted to canvas. Each
painting is 4' x 3' portrait. Black Acryllic on a light titanium buff wash
on stretched box canvas. Formidable and high impacting, the Black Metal
England collection of paintings are underpinned by a honed, cultured
aesthetic and ornate beauty. The paintings are sympathetic with the
integrity and complex ideology of each sub-genre.
